Our Story: Crafted by the Ocean, Inspired by Maui

Aloha and welcome! My name is Stephen Navazio, and I’m the heart and hands behind these handcrafted wooden earrings. My journey began here on the beautiful island of Maui, where the rhythm of the waves, the whisper of the palm trees, and the warmth of the aloha spirit sparked a passion for creating something meaningful—wearable art that embodies the essence of the islands.

It All Started with a Piece of Wood

Like the driftwood that washes ashore, I saw potential in wood—a second life, a new story waiting to be told. I began experimenting with laser cutting, shaping intricate designs inspired by the natural wonders surrounding me: the graceful curves of honu (sea turtles) gliding through the waves, the delicate contours of seashells resting on the sand, and the timeless beauty of Hawaiian motifs.

At first, it was just a creative escape, something I made for myself and close friends. But every time I wore my designs to the Maui Swap Meet or around Lahaina, people would stop and ask, “Where did you get those?” That’s when I realized that my passion could be shared—not just as jewelry, but as a piece of the island for anyone who carries Maui in their heart.
